The Tiger and the Donkey: A Lesson in Wisdom

Once upon a time in a dense and vibrant forest, a tiger and a donkey found themselves in a heated argument. The donkey, stubborn and insistent, claimed that the grass was black. The tiger, bewildered by such an absurd statement, confidently asserted that the grass was green. Their argument grew louder and more intense, attracting the attention of other animals who watched from a distance.

Realizing that their dispute could not be settled between them, the tiger and the donkey decided to seek justice from the lion, the wise king of the forest. The lion, known for his fairness and wisdom, would surely settle the matter once and for all.

As they approached the lion's majestic throne, the donkey brayed loudly, "Your Majesty, the tiger and I are in disagreement. I say the grass is black, but the tiger claims it is green. Please, settle this argument for us."

The lion, with a solemn expression, listened to their pleas. He turned his piercing gaze towards the tiger, who stood tall and proud, confident in his truth. To everyone's astonishment, the lion roared, "The donkey is correct. The grass is black."

The donkey, brimming with pride and satisfaction, trotted away happily, convinced of his victory. However, the tiger remained, confusion and frustration etched on his face. As soon as the donkey was out of earshot, the tiger approached the lion and asked, "Your Majesty, how could you say the grass is black? Everyone knows it is green. Why did you side with the donkey?"

The lion, with a gentle but firm tone, responded, "Yes, tiger, the grass is indeed green. But you, a magnificent and wise creature, chose to argue with a foolish donkey. You wasted your time and mine over something so trivial. There was no need to seek validation from me for something so evident. Remember, not every battle is worth fighting, and not every opinion is worth contesting."

The tiger bowed his head, realizing the wisdom in the lion's words. He understood that his time and energy were precious, and not to be squandered on meaningless arguments. He left the lion's presence with a newfound sense of clarity and purpose.

Moral of the Story:

Choose your battles wisely. Not every argument is worth engaging in, especially when the truth is evident. Wasting time on trivial disputes can distract you from more important matters and diminish your wisdom and dignity. Sometimes, it's better to walk away and conserve your energy for things that truly matter.
